Jason has worked at the provincial and federal levels of government advising Premiers in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland and Labrador. He has advised political leaders across the country on campaign and election strategy, media relations and public policy.

Jason Hatcher is a Managing Principal of Navigator Ltd., leading Navigator’s Western Canadian operations from Calgary. Jason specializes in strategic communications, media relations, issues management, and government relations.
Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Jason was educated in both English and French and offers clients a breadth of experience from both business and political perspectives.
Jason works with organizations to enhance their public reputations and to develop communication, stakeholder consultation and government advocacy strategies. He has led successful project campaigns for clients in the areas of telecommunications, technology, health, agriculture, athletics, finance, and energy.
On behalf of his clients, Jason has acted in leadership roles in successful projects including Alberta First Responders’ Radio Communications System, improvements to Alberta’s electrical transmission system, changes to the governance structure of the beef industry in Alberta, Chief of Media and member of the organizing committee for the 2005 and 2008 Alberta Nordic World Cup, and the Jim Prentice and Stephen Ames Charity Golf Tournament for Kids that raised almost a million dollars for children’s charities.
Before joining Navigator, Jason cofounded and was president of a successful public relations firm in Calgary, emerging as one of Canada’s leading professionals in the field of strategic communications.
For over ten years, he has worked at the provincial and federal levels of government advising Premiers in Alberta , Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador, Canadian Cabinet Ministers and political leaders and parties across the country, in areas concerning campaign and election strategy, media relations and public policy.
As a media commentator on public policy, government and politics Jason has appeared regularly on national and regional public affairs programming.
Jason is passionate about his volunteer work and is on the Board of the Calgary United Way. He is also actively involved with the Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.
In November 2012, Jason was named one of “Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40” in recognition of his professional accomplishments and service to the community.
