Navigator, Canada’s leading high-stakes public strategy and communications firm, has acquired Haddon Strategy to launch a new full-service creative and digital agency named True.

Shayna Haddon, founder of Haddon Strategy, assumes the role of President and Creative Director of True. Haddon brings more than a decade of successful expertise running her agency in the creative and tech sector. She is known for her market disruption apps, uncovering the next bold move for her clients and non-profits and first-to-market product launches that save time and solve problems for clients.

“We are thrilled about this acquisition. Last year we began an experiment in the digital space, and today we’re growing that experiment 10-fold,” says Jaime Watt, executive chairman of Navigator. “This delivers on our ongoing strategy of staying at the forefront of the changing landscape of public affairs communications and ensuring our clients reach their goals.”

With a robust team of producers, strategists, designers and community managers, True will serve Navigator’s clients across Canada and beyond.

The True team will be based in Toronto’s east end and will offer significant expertise in creative content creation, digital mobilization and community management.

“Jaime Watt has been trailblazer in this industry and joining our brands allows our team to push the envelope,” said Haddon. “Navigator houses a group of professionals who know how to take ‘unique’ to the next level, and together, we’ll be able to change minds and move the needle for our clients like never before.”

In addition to the acquisition of Haddon Strategy, Chris Cowperthwaite joins Navigator to run digital campaign strategies. Cowperthwaite founded Groundforce Digital, a boutique consulting firm specializing in digital strategy and campaign management. Cowperthwaite is also the co-chair of Open Democracy Project, a not-for-profit offering digital campaign tools and training for civic campaigners.

“When paired with Navigator’s existing experience and deep relationships, we are uniquely positioned to build the most innovative high-stakes campaigns that change minds,” said Cowperthwaite.
