About David

David Simmonds brings a valuable understanding of strategic communications, public persuasion, and stakeholder relations to Navigator.

Having worked on a number of complex intergovernmental policy files, David is an experienced influencer and coalition-builder. He possesses particular expertise in issues of higher education and policy research. Prior to joining Navigator, David worked at the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation, where he took lead responsibility for the dissemination of research and policy. David led a number of strategic initiatives, working closely with government officials and ministers. He has managed important relationships with non-profit and business executives in Canada, New York, and California.

David has worked at The University of Western Ontario, and was President of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance. While at OUSA, David helped secure and shape the implementation of the largest public investment in Ontario’s colleges and universities in over 40 years.

David was a member of the City of London’s Creative City Taskforce and currently serves as a part of the Toronto City Summit Alliance’s Emerging Leaders Network.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, David holds a BA in Political Science, and a MA in Media, Theory, and Culture.
