Robin Sears is a senior communications and public affairs advisor with experience on three continents. Robin has led client teams in healthcare, financial services, media and in international democratic development.
As national director of the New Democratic Party, Sears built their policy making infrastructure, first issues publication, and first national direct mail fundraising . As national campaign director he managed their three most successful national elections.
Deputy Secretary General of the world’s largest organization of political parties, under German Chancellor Willy Brandt, he was responsible for communications, finance, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. Robin worked with leaders in the Middle East, Central America, and Southern Africa
As Chief of Staff to Bob Rae, during the “Accord” government he managed the relationship between the Peterson cabinet and the NDP. As Ontario’s senior diplomatic representative in Asia, he managed seven offices from Tokyo to India, promoting trade, investment and tourism.
For a global executive search firm, Robin managed regional and global practices in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Toronto. He was the first Asia president of the pioneering digital search firm, Futurestep, for two of those years. He is a senior writer for Policy Options magazine, Canada’s leading policy journal, and a regular guest on CBC Newsworld’s Politics.
