Joseph Lavoie joined Navigator in 2007 to focus on the use of social media in public affairs campaigns. He recently worked on the Obama Wisconsin campaign for the new media team. Prior to joining Navigator, Joseph worked at Citigroup Global Transaction Services. There he introduced a host of Web 2.0 tools like department blogs, wikis, and forums to improve communication within the Transfer Agency System department.
In one of his first forays into social media, Joseph developed Santa’s Journal, a successful online viral marketing campaign that introduced Santa Claus to the world of blogging and podcasting.
Joseph has been active in numerous provincial and federal election campaigns and has provided political commentary for various websites and television/radio programs. He has served as a spokesperson to The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney. In 2007, Joseph was selected Canada’s Next Great Prime Minister by Canadians as part of a scholarship program sponsored by Magna International, the Dominion Institute, and the Canada-US Fulbright Program.
Joseph graduated from York University’s Glendon College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
